| School Grounds |
| Fountain
A massive carved-stone fountain surrounded by matching stone benches, located just outside the main entrance. Paths radiate outward in all directions; you can get pretty much anywhere from here.

| Courtyard
A grassy, roofless area with many doors leading into it from the school. It is located near the Dining Hall. There are a few picnic tables scattered around for anyone who cares to eat outdoors. This place is a hazard for falling pieces of stone and mortar from the collapsed spire.

| Spires and Towers
Being a castle, the school has many tall towers and spires. There is one for each dormitory, the tallest being from the Heaven dorm, and several around the outside edge and overlooking the courtyard. One of the spires around the courtyard has collapsed.

| Chapel
This is the remains of a dilapidated Catholic church. In some places, the roof has fallen in. The hallowed ground is about half the size of a football field.

| Cemetery (1 sub-board)
Located just behind the chapel, and about the same size. This is also holy ground. There are many gravestones above the ground; most of which have the names almost entirely worn away. There are a few mausoleums, some of which contain stairs that spiral underground—secret entrances into the crypts below. The crypt is larger than the cemetery itself, and runs underneath the chapel as well. Some of it has collapsed in on itself.
Dungeon
This place has never been used since the castle was converted into a school, but it still remains deep beneath its halls. There are several cells, most of them locked. In a hidden back room there is a rotted and rusted collection of torture instruments.

| Library
Two stories of wall-to-wall shelving, with many aisles of shelves standing in rows as well. There are a few tables and study carrels for writing, and several dusty armchairs for reading. The library is in such a state that it can hardly be classified as a library anymore. The bronze nameplates labelling the shelves have mostly fallen off or worn away, and even if they were legible, the books are mostly in random orders. There are stacks of unshelved tomes all over the floor as well. It looks like someone has tried to build a fort in the former reference section.

| Dinner Hall
Basically a cafeteria. There is an adjoining kitchen, fully stocked with food that is replenished every so often by the elusive principal. Someone has set a spell on one of the dining hall tables so that it contains an all-day buffet, but it appears to be wearing off, and the food is of questionable quality. Most prefer to use the kitchen.

| Garden
A mazelike garden with many different types of flowers. Someone long ago with a powerful earth affinity set it up so that the flowers can grow in any climate, so both tropical and winter plants can grow all year round.

| Cliffs
The cliffs mark the edge of The Divide. Walk far enough in any direction and you’ll end up here. Below them is swirling blackness; nobody who has jumped off has ever returned to tell what’s at the bottom.

| Forest
Densely populated with trees, plants, and shrubberies. Some of it is old-growth, though there are newer trees around and between the old. There are some creatures one wouldn’t expect to find in an ordinary forest, such as the occasional unicore, a gang of killer rats, and a disgruntledd horny toad. It's advisable to take someone with you if you plan on going into the darker areas.

| Field
About an acre of flat, grassy land that borders the forest and goes out all the way to the cliffs. Since nobody ever mows around here, the grass is knee-high or deeper in most places, and choked with weeds.

| Lake
A relatively small, though deep lake, with a sand beach on one side and rocky outcroppings on the other. The rock beach on the other side leads into the forest. Altogether a pretty ordinary place, well-suited for swimming.

| Pond
A small, murky pond, a short walk from the lake. Swimming is not recommended; notwithstanding the algae, bacteria, and leeches, there is also a territorial elephant-sized snapping turtle.
